Marco’s named a Top Franchise for Vets by Entrepreneur magazine

Our fast-growing pizza franchise is a great post-military career. Find out why we made the list.

Veterans own more than 5% of Marco’s Pizza franchise locations.

We’re proud to announce we were recently recognized on Entrepreneur magazine’s ranking of Top Franchises for Vets, coming in at No. 9.

Marco’s Pizza has long participated in the International Franchising Association’s VetFran program, which is designed to make it easier for qualified veterans to become franchise owners by providing financial incentives.

In addition, we provide strong franchisee support  to help veterans transition to business ownership. U.S. Army veteran and Marco’s franchisee Scott Quagliata notes that vets “make great franchisees because the very nature of the franchise business involves understanding and adhering to operational standards. There is a direct correlation between success in the military and success in business.”

How Marco’s made the list

Entrepreneur magazine invited franchise companies that offer financial incentives to veterans to participate in a survey about their veterans programs. “From there,” the magazine says, “we developed our ranking of the top 150 franchises for veterans, taking into account each company’s veteran incentive, how veteran franchisees are attracted to and supported by the company, and how each company scored in the 2018 Franchise 500.”

Marco’s offers a $10,000 discount on our franchise fee to qualified U.S. veterans. The initial franchise fee is waived in full for veterans with a military service-connected disability rating of 50% or more.

An abstract red, white and blue American flag image tops the words VetFran in large red letters separated by a blue star.

Why we’re a top franchise for vets

Franchising in general can offer a familiar framework to veterans who are used to following detailed operating systems. We bring proven systems to the table. The invaluable traits veterans bring to the table are leadership and tactical skills that translate well into successful franchise ownership. We’re proud to create opportunities that meld our strengths with the strengths of veterans.

“It’s extremely important that we create opportunities for the men and women who’ve put everything on the line for our country,” says President and COO Tony Libardi, himself a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. “I don’t think we can do enough to help support our veterans, show our appreciation and give back to them and their families.”

While a background in restaurant operations is helpful, it’s not required to become a Marco’s franchisee. If you’ve got the passion, the drive and the determination, we’ll provide the comprehensive training and ongoing support, so veterans can create their own opportunities for success with Marco’s.
