Our pizza franchise has become a mainstay on the Franchise 500 list due to continued growth
Marco’s Pizza is proud to announce we were highly-ranked again this year in the prestigious Entrepreneur Franchise 500, an annual ranking of franchise opportunities that measures brands on criteria including growth, financial strength, stability and brand power.
The magazine’s 41st annual Franchise 500 ranking evaluates over 1,000 national franchise brands based on costs and fees, size and growth, support, brand strength, financial strength and stability. There are over 150 data points in all, and each franchise earns a cumulative score based on a thorough analysis that is used to determine the ranking order. Marco’s was ranked No. 83 on this year’s list.
Why Marco’s Pizza made the cut
First and foremost, Marco’s Pizza is an excellent franchise opportunity. Our pizza franchise has more than quadrupled the number of Marco’s locations over the past decade and will be opening our 1,000th location in early 2020. Marco’s growth has also given the brand the resources to launch national TV advertisements, which began airing in spring 2019. This is a major milestone for any brand, since the enhanced brand awareness helps attract new customers and boost sales.
Traditional franchised stores reported average net royalty sales of $702,128* in 2018, as disclosed in the Franchise Disclosure Document that candidates receive after they inquire about opportunities.
We earned several accolades in 2019. Marco’s was named the Pizza Chain Brand of the Year following a Harris Poll/EquiTrend® Study. The survey also named Marco’s the Most Loved and Most Trusted Pizza Chain Brand by consumers. Forbes magazine named Marco’s one of the top five franchise opportunities in the mid-range investment category. Franchise Times named us to their list of Top 200+ list of franchises with the most sales worldwide. We continue to climb in this annual ranking.
A unique brand with prime territories available
Marco’s stands out from other pizza franchises as the only large pizza chain that was founded by a native Italian, Pat Giammarco. At the root of our success are family recipes passed down from Pat’s grandmother and a commitment to excellence and hospitality that honor our Italian roots. As the Harris Poll shows, customers can tell the difference.
We have recently expanded the number of available territories where we are ready to partner with new franchisees.
